A floor saw is a self propelled, walk behind machine with a shaft that drives a diamond cutting blade. Floor sawing is the most commonly used diamond cutting method. The floor saw, as its name suggests, is typically used to cut horizontal flat surfaces such as floors, bridge decks and slabs usually to facilitate the removal of pavement and structural sections. It is also used to cut expansion joints or to induce cracks.
