Health And Safety

Safety begins at Director level. EMDD's in-house safety adviser is both a 'hands on' director and NEBOSH qualified. Furthermore, we have links with an external Health and Safety team. This team of full time, highly qualified advisers works on behalf of East Midland Diamond Drilling to maintain the Health and Safety policy and offers consultation on newly released legislation.

At all levels, health and safety is a dominant issue within the ethos of EMDD. We continuously strive to maintain our exemplary Health and Safety record. From day one, each new employee receives comprehensive and ongoing safety training to instill a positive awareness of Health and Safety issues.

Annual safety training updates are provided for each and every employee and relevant changes in legislation or company policy are transmitted to all operatives by a combination of induction training, tool box talks, videos, and more formalised presentations by our safety team.

With an ever growing emphasis on hand arm vibration syndrome (HAVS) and operator fatigue, East Midlands Diamond Drilling continually invest in the latest equipment available to our industry, thus ensuring every possible step has been taken to minimize the health or safety risks our operatives may encounter on a day to day basis.

As a company, EMDD publishes papers relating to Health and Safety issues and has addressed seminars on behalf of the HSE as a representative of the diamond drilling industry
